everyone says that soccer is spelled "football" in other countries, but i though that it was spelled "futbol"! which one is right?

football= soccer in French
futbol= soccer in Spanish

That's true. In other countires, football is soccer and soccer is football. In Spanish speaking countries, the spell football as "fútbol."

In English it is football, but like others have said it depends on the country and the language

in france and english speaking countries it is football
