I think you're right. It's all in what you are used to. Soccer is very new here and we have enough other sports to keep us busy.

Well as a Brit bought up on the true game of football (soccer to you!), tennis and cricket, I would say the only sports I really can't stand are the purely American ones like baseball and NFL. Admittedly this could be because we don't really see them here (just the occasional snipit on the news or maybe a final on a satellite channel late at night or something) - but to me, they are just frantic and frenetic and not at all skilful! And a question I have always wanted to ask.... why do they call the NFL thing the "World Series", when America is really the only country in the world that plays it? LOL! No seriously - I love watching football (kicking with the feet of course:-) ), and also tennis which is my favourite, and I love skating too. I find golf a bit boring, and I hate boxing.

I do believe it all has to do with what we are used to. Your right about the "world series"....I wonder if anyone has thought about that?

FOOTBALL! Football season is all that my family talks about. When there is a GA game and the Bulldogs are playing, we have a party with the game on. I just sit there and read, because I am not understanding one thing. I try to understand the terms and what they mean, and I do understand a little more now... but 1st down, 2nd down 3rd down... it is all gibberish to me. I know they are trying to move the ball. I know that a field goal is 1 point and a touch down is 6 points and that is all I know. I enjoy that my family loves it, but I just can't get it. I never know who or what I am watching. My daughter knows all the players, just about. She knows most of all the moves and plays they make. I just know one looks like one guy is trying to smell another guys behind..hehe.

Wrestling and boxing are sports that I can't figure out why people like them. Who can enjoy watching people hurt each other? It never made sense to me.

Wrestling in schools is more of a sport and they actually wrestle but professional wrestling is a lot of hurting but more put on than anything. It always looks so fake to me because many times I have seen where the guy could get out of the way but he doesn't.
