All the people saying the lost respect and that he should have retired years ago, El Emperador deserves more respect than that. Its hard for someone who played as long as he did to just one day say he wont play anymore. People know that hes the most capped player in Mexican history, but many dont know that he also holds the world record in caps for an outfield player.

I think when they say he was the best Mexican player to never play in Europe, they are right. Damn if we had a Claudio Suarez 13 years younger, hed be the perfect partner for Rafa. Claudio was is a warrior on the field. I hope they do a little honor thing for him here in Mexico, his career speaks for itself.

Personally i lost respect for the guy. yeah he is a important person to Mexican Futbol.... but, he in interviews in the Magazine Record. he bragged about how teams like Necaxa and Tigres wanted him bacj but he wanted to end his career in Chivas USA. i really don't remember that much about him but to me it's finally time he retired he was 40 or 41 and how many times did he call it quits but he came back?
